Thanks for the update Jon. It's a shame you didnt get any further orders, particularly as we have 500+ members.

Cheers,

Club clothing

I remember reading somewhere, possibly in an old copy of Banknotes, that the club was thinking of ordering some clothing for members to purchase - hats, t-shirts etc. Does anyone know if that happened amd if so, what the details were - ie prices, items available etc. If they are available it might b...

Fantasy Premier League for ABAC

If there are any footie fans out there, I have created a mini league for Astwood Bank AC on fantasy premier league. It costs nothing to enter a team in the Fantasy Premier League. Just go to http://www.fantasy.premierleague.com sign up and spend your imaginary £100m on your squad. The points are tal...

Hi Stu, It sounds as though you have your own personal venue, what more could you wish for :?: Nigel How about a few more fish in Alve 2 or, assuming stocks and lack of anglers on that pool stay the same, a two rod limit on that pool?? It is very slow most of the time, which is probably why most pe...

I'll take that as a "No" then! :D

Although I do know that a 11 1/2lb carp came out of the top pool. A friends son caught it back in June.

Alve 2

I have had a few short sessions up on Alve 2, which I think is the better looking of the two waters. It is certainly more challenging than Alve 1 and while we are not always successful we have bagged a few nice carp, both Commons and Mirrors, up to around 8lb. The question is, does anyone else fish ...

I've had a couple of sessions at Cann Lane. The first was on usual match tactics. There are some lovely small roach in there which were fairly obliging on a short 5-6m line on maggot/pinkie over a fine groundbait, although whether it was due to stocking density, my limited abilities or otherwise the...

After a hectic couple of weeks, I took the two lads to BG for an evening session on Saturday, and surprisingly found that we had the pool to ourselves. We had a few ranging from a pound to 5lb on wag & pellet and also on a boilie rod. Good fun and it keeps the boys interested.

Re: Spawning but had my best session!

My mate was landing a fish for his lad and as he was about to net it at the bank another carp swam alongside to rub up against the hooked carp and he netted both the fish. BOGOF!!   Your mate must be one of those jammy blokes who could catch fish from an empty bucket!!!

Paul Heath (Subs secretary) is the man to contact, although other committee members may also be able to issue day tickets. Paul's number is in your membership pack and probably on the website, under Committee.

Bradley Green catch reports

I took the wife and kids down to BG for a short evening session last Saturday (15 May). Passed Nigel (Hon Sec) in the bottom field as he was chauffeured out and we drove in....well actually as the missus drove in and I was running behind. So much for my chauffeur waiting for me as I locked the gate!...
