Harpo, you dont need a night permit to catch carp at abbots , finding where the carp are by either spotting them or just going by experience should give you a chance. Its not just a chuck it and chance it venue , you have to think more about what you are doing to be consistent on ASL. Cyprio.

Sorry to hear about your koi carp Geoff, i dont think yours will be the only casualties tbh. I hope our venues will be ok, i think if anywhere will suffer most it will be the commercials stuffed with fish. I was told that silty lakes suffer aswell with lids on, as the debris on the bottom breaks dow...

Hi Geoff , Its well worth thinking about buying your boilies this way , and its worth looking at places other than the bait and feed co or cc moore , there are loads of other bait firms out there that will either roll a bait to your own spec or or reccomend one of there own baits , and believe me , ...

I take it the duck population has not been thinned out as much as we would have hoped. I was planning on putting a bit of time in on there this winter just to see what happens but it looks like that plan has gone to the dogs for now , lets just hope we get a decent gap in the weather soon so we can...

I take it the duck population has not been thinned out as much as we would have hoped. They never seem to shoot that many allowing the remainder to add to the next lot they put on there , the least the little quacking f*****s could do for us is keep the whole of the lake ice free , instead they teas...

Bradley green is always good for runs whatever the weather , i dare say that if you braved the cold at the moment and broke a few holes in the ice you would still stand a better than average chance of tempting a carp or two , you cant say that about too many fisheries can you!!! :) Lets just hope th...

I think the esp olive carp mono is nearest i have found that ticks all the boxes, casts well, sinks well, good abrasion resistance, and a reasonable diameter for breaking strain, my only niggle is its a bit wirey, but i think this gives it lower stretch. One line i would not advise people to try is ...

I had been using korda adrenaline in 15lb for around 12 months and found the abrasion resistance to be pretty poor, it would start fraying the last 3 metres above the leader, not ideal! Just put on some esp olive carp mono and have been impressed so far, its got low stretch, sinks well and casts as ...
