what is the lake like to fish in the winter for roach tench bream etc?

Very hard, dont know about the roach though, ive seen people struggle to catch anything out of there through winter, myself included. :-)
Effort = reward ..............sometimes!!!!

It used to be ok, dont think there is so many in there now, mainly jacks i reckon. Think your best bet is maybe the river rather than the lake.:-)
