Postby Johnpike » Sun Apr 26, 2015 9:57 pm

My wife and I fished Bradleys Green for the first time today.
We both fished a single Grain of corn on a size 12 hook using light float tackle in the margins. My wife had 4 carp 1 common 7lb and 3 mirror 2lb8oz, 5lb,6lb6oz I had 3 Mirrors 4lb,3lb & 6lb. We both enjoyed our day at Bradley's and hope to give it a try again soon. :D ps also noticed some of the carp have started Spawning at the Lake

Will be interesting to see how the over 60s get on Thrs.
Even this early in the year should need 60lb to be in the frame.

Fished Today it was a bit colder with the wind and sunny spells and showers. My wife managed to catch only two mirrors 4lb14oz & 3lb8oz on chickpea loosing a third in a snag. I had 4 carp 1 common 4lb 3 mirrors 5lb8oz, 5lb6oz & 4lb10oz all on chickpea. Some of the carp are still spawning at the lake. We also seen a Heron on the lake though he caught nothing :P

Third Day on the Brads

Postby Johnpike » Sat May 02, 2015 4:00 pm

Just Preparing some chickpeas for another session at the Brads tomorrow, as the weather Tomorrow afternoon should be better. My wife & I really enjoy the fishing there so we are going to give it another go and see if we can beat our current catch rates and size of carp from the pool. :D

Her best so far:
using simple single rod & float tactics in the margins
7lb Common Carp on a single grain of Corn 26/4/15
6lb6oz Mirror Carp on a single grain of Corn 26/4/15
Catch in a day max 4

My best so far:
using simple single rod & float tactics in the margins
6lb Mirror Carp on a single grain of Corn 26/4/15
4lb Common Carp on Chickpea 27/4/15
Catch in a day max 4

Not good.. in fact probably the worst weights Ive seen from BG and that's including the junior matches and they only fish for three hours.
The up and down temps and the fact that the match was fished by 25 anglers possibly had a bearing on the outcome.

We has a Hard day today I managed only 3 Carp Mirror 6lb2oz, Common 3lb8oz & Common 8lb14oz from Baradleys. My wife had 2 Carp Mirror5lb2oz & Mirror4lb6oz on Chickpea over Pellets on float fishing tactics in the margin. We also lost one each as well. The weather was windy but warm with sunshine & showers.

Beat my Bradleys Green PB Common & Mirror today though. :D

Had the lake to our-self's today nice and quiet at the Lake.

The recent matches have not produced the normal plethora of big weights we have come to expect from this venue, could be many reasons for this but pleasure sessions may produce better results.
