Skilts Pool Opening day

Postby rooksta » Fri Mar 02, 2012 10:59 pm

Fished Skilts today. Fortunate to have good weather and a busy time catching.
Fished the pole @ 10 mtrs on the bottom (5ft) on double bronze maggot with bread crumb over the top.Caught roach just over the 1lb mark. Had 3 tench, biggest near to 4lb. Carp moved in due to constant feeding, 15 carp in total ranging from 2- 7lb. I was going to chop and change different baits for obvious reasons but I was more than happy being kept busy. Maggot feeder was a hit too. Got smashed twice. I guess it was sure to happen with the lumps it holds. I'm going to fish the deeper end tomorrow.

PLEASE BE ADVISED- ALL RULES & Bait info are on the notice board which is located in the hut next to pegs 2&3. They will also be in your renewal pack when rejoining.

From the car park go through the single silver gate and follow the roped path around the edge of the farmers field Continue 150 yards past the white disked tree to the gated/ fenced off area to the pool.

PLEASE TAKE ALL LITTER HOME.

Roger & Steve- A big thanks for the extra work over the last few days and for making Skilts pool happen. That goes to Chris and Jon and all those involved.
I'm amazed that we managed to do that amount of work and turn it around for the opening to members as of today.

Happy fishing to all. Leave some for me.... Lol.

Parking @ Skilts

Postby rooksta » Sun Mar 11, 2012 9:14 pm

Could I kindly ask all members with cars to park against the front hedgerow and the fencing opposite where possible. This would then leave enough room (two car gap)for fellow anglers to use the overflow once full. In turn this enables the farmer full access through his own gates using machinery.

PLEASE DISPLAY YOUR CAR MEMBERSHIP sticker for obvious reasons.

Your cooperation in both matters is greatly appreciated .

Hmmmmmmm , perhaps the committee should get together and think about having a parking attendant on site , that should do the trick!!!

The club could get one of them clamping firms in, im sure they would do it.
Just a thought could get sum white lines painted on the car park, that would sort the parking issues out. :!:

Really sorry to hear that. It must of been some time ago as the police have no record of any incidents within the last 4 years.

I must admit, Leaving any vehicle unattended, breeds problems anywhere not just for fishermen alike.

EG- Golf courses have the problem.

If we get any incidents of that nature we will address accordingly but the club officials and the Police would need to be informed.
